Solar Park Water Authority Limburg – Phase I

WBL – Phase 1, 11 MWp of solar energy at 11 WWTP locations

In the first phase of Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg’s sustainability program, Aton Projects installed solar panel systems at eleven wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).
The solar roofs and fields together provide over 11 megawatt-peak of power and supply the plants with more than 10 gigawatt hours of sustainable electricity per year, accounting for a large part of WBL’s energy consumption.

With this project, WBL took an important step towards energy neutrality and became one of the largest water boards in the Netherlands in terms of its own solar power generation.
