WBL – Phase 2, Further Expansion of Solar Energy at WWTPs

Following the success of the first phase, WBL extended its collaboration with Aton Projects for a second phase. Four new installations, including expansions in Roermond and Meijel, a new solar field in Stein, and a rooftop installation at the Sittard yard, collectively provide over 1.2 GWh of additional green electricity annually.

Under the performance contract, Aton Projects guarantees maintenance and the agreed annual yield for 15 years. This expansion supports WBL’s ambition to become fully energy-neutral and to further enhance sustainability within the water authority sector.
