Agri-PV Demo Project Jackerath, Germany – RWE

Sustainable Energy and Agriculture in Harmony – 3 Concepts at One Location

For RWE, Aton Projects realized an innovative Agri-PV demonstration project of 3.2 MWp with Sungrow inverters in Jackerath, Germany. On a seven-hectare site, the installation combines solar energy generation with active agriculture. Three different mounting systems: vertical panels, sun-tracking trackers, and elevated pergolas demonstrate how sustainable energy production and cultivation can coexist on the same land. The project serves as a testing ground for applied research by Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems into the future of agriculture and solar energy.

“For Aton Projects, the Agri-PV project in Jackerath is a significant milestone. We have not just realized a solar park here, but a test site where energy, agriculture, and innovation converge. The combination of different system concepts, from vertical setups to elevated pergolas, makes this project unique and provides valuable insights into design, construction, and performance under real agricultural conditions. This project demonstrates how smart engineering and sustainable vision can connect the future of energy and agriculture.”
